Managing Partner: Matthew C. Kaufman
Mr. Kaufman is a senior private equity professional with over 20 years of principal investing experience. Over the course of his career he has led the execution of over 30 equity, debt and M&A transactions and has significant experience managing portfolio companies and turnarounds.
Mr. Kaufman was previously Senior Managing Director with GSC Group where he was a member of the Investment Committee of the private equity and distressed debt group. Prior to that he was Director of Corporate Finance with NextWave Telecom, Inc., worked with The Blackstone Group's Merchant Banking and Mergers and Acquisitions departments, and with Bear Stearns' Mergers & Acquisitions department.
Mr. Kaufman has served on the Board of Directors of numerous corporate and not-for-profit entities and has held steering committee positions in several bankruptcies. Select board memberships include Chairman of Pacific Aerospace & Electronics, Inc. and Aeromet Holdings (both in the aerospace and defense industry), Burke Industries, Inc. (commercial flooring), Day International Group, Inc. (printing press consumables and chemical products), Safety-Kleen Corp. (environmental services), and Woods Equipment Company (agricultural and construction equipment).
Mr. Kaufman graduated from the University of Michigan, with B.B.A. and M.A.C.C. degrees.
Managing Director: Matthew J. Pearson
Mr. Pearson has nearly 15 years of transaction and operational experience having held roles in private equity, investment banking, and as a corporate operator.
Prior to Validor Capital, Mr. Pearson was an investment banker with Cleary Gull serving clients in the lower and middle markets working an M&A and capital raise engagements. Mr. Pearson also had stints with two private equity firms in Nashville, TN while attending business school. Mr. Pearson has held a number of operational and leadership roles at CLARCOR and General Electric.
Mr. Pearson holds a B.S. and M.S.I.E. from the University of Louisville and an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
Operating Partner: Steve Noe
Mr. Noe is a senior operating executive with nearly 20 years of private equity experience in both operating and investor roles. Steve is responsible for working with portfolio management teams to formulate and implement value creation initiatives, acquire and integrate add-on acquisitions and achieve operational excellence.
Mr. Noe joined Validor Capital in June 2019 and is the Executive Chairman of Marwin Corporation and serves on the Board of Directors of Boehm Pressed Steel and Bico Steel. Select past board memberships include Edsco Corporation, Eiko Holdings, and Sportexe Construction Services. Previously he worked at Charter Oak Equity and prior to that at a number of private equity owned companies in a variety of C-level positions. Mr. Noe’s industry experience spans chemicals, industrial manufacturing, distribution, and construction services.
Mr. Noe graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
Analyst: Jared M. Perlman
Mr. Perlman joined Validor Capital in 2018, having held various roles in corporate finance. Mr. Perlman previously analyzed and developed financial and operational strategies for a private company in Miami, FL, and prior to that, assisted with M&A and capital raising transactions at a boutique investment bank in Miami, FL.
Mr. Perlman received a dual B.S. in Finance and Real Estate from Florida State University and an M.S.F from Villanova University.
